The boys and girls have been really lucky and got to visit the BWFC stadium for a tour! We went on a coach to the stadium and then went on a tour. We saw the concourse, spotted where to get a bite to eat before a match, saw where the media sit and found out how the grass grows (artificial sunlight!), went in the home and away changing rooms and went through the tunnel to the pitch. We had an amazing morning! Special thanks to Bolton Wanderers Community Trust!
Our theme for the next fortnight is football! Check back to see what we get up to!
Kung hei fat choi! Happy new year! 2017 is the year of the rooster. We have been learning about Chinese New Year. The children enjoyed reading the story of the Chinese zodiac and how the animals raced to get a year named after them. We celebrated by having our own Chinese banquet! The children practised using money language and paid for their meal. We tasted green tea and meditated.
In Reception we have started going for a morning walk each day to help to get us ready to learn. We love the fresh air!
The children have stated the new term learning all about the season of winter through our new 'Frozen' topic. Fingers crossed for some icy, snowy, frozen weather to explore! We have had some ice and snow in Reception today and the children were challenged to build an ice palace for Elsa! Where has the ice gone?
Mrs Kotwal and Aisha Siddiqa have both been to Mecca over the holidays. They brought some pictures and some treats for everyone to share at Show and Tell this week. We tried zamzam (holy) water and different kinds of dates, they were very sweet and tasty! Mrs Kotwal and Aisha Siddiqa told us about walking around the Kaaba 7 times and visiting another special mosque in Madina. Don't forget that it is Show and Tell every Friday. If your child wants to show holiday photographs, or any other photos, you can email them to [email protected]
Today we had a very special visit from the big man himself... Father Christmas! Miss Haydon and Miss Deakin rang Father Christmas and told him how super the Ladybirds and Busy Bees children are, so he flew on his sleigh from the North Pole to bring us some presents! Everyone remembered their lovely manners and thanked Father Christmas for coming, and we sang for him before he left.
