Today we had a very special visit from the big man himself... Father Christmas! Miss Haydon and Miss Deakin rang Father Christmas and told him how super the Ladybirds and Busy Bees children are, so he flew on his sleigh from the North Pole to bring us some presents! Everyone remembered their lovely manners and thanked Father Christmas for coming, and we sang for him before he left.
The children in EYFS have been learning about Christmas and how different people celebrate Christmas all around the world. This week we put on our Christmas show for our families. We learnt songs in different languages. All of the grown ups are really proud!
Pikes Lane welcomed a very special visitor to the school on Tuesday...Cinderella! We enjoyed a fabulous pantomine performance of this enchanting traditional tale. We loved listening to the magical story and participating in the singing and story telling. Below are some pictures of scenes from the show. Can you talk about the characters, events and settings in the story. Perhaps you could have a go at re-telling the story with your grown-ups? We would love to see your comments below. Can you tell us about your favourite part of the story or your favourite character and why? Can you talk about the sequence of events in the Jack and the Beanstalk story...? Reception have been busy practising their songs for the christmas performance. Below are each classes song and some lyrics to practise.
