Back at school the children enjoyed their pizza creations.
Delicious!
Grown-ups...was there any pizza left for you? Let us know what you think!
Come and see the exciting things we have been up to! Please feel free to comment on our blog.
The Busy Bee Reception children enjoyed a fun-packed morning at Pizza Express today. The children met pizza chef Mark who introduced them to the sensational world of pizza making! The children started the morning by experiencing a tasting session where they explored pizza toppings using all of their senses. Elham wasn't too sure about the olives! Next we floured our work surface and got to work flattening the pizza dough. Losene, could you be the next Jamie Oliver? Next, the topping. What's your favourite? The children had a fantastic time learning about food hygiene, ingredients, and pizza making. 'The cheese is melting because it's getting hotter in the oven' observed Maria. Well done Busy Bees for your fantastic listening and learning!

The Reception children had lots of fun today on our Autumn walk. We had fun singing counting songs, meeting the wildlife and noticing the signs of autumn. Avi said "I saw leaves falling down from the trees." "The leaves are red and some orange" noticed Aleena. "I saw two squirrels looking for nuts" said David. The children walked beautifully and sensibly and certainly made themselves proud by doing their best. Thank you to all our parents and helpers who joined us on the walk.
Aroush and Hanna have been building and counting each piece carefully. They worked together and counted up to 33! Please tell us about your child's mathematical achievements! You can email us, comment below or fill in a 'sharing star'. Thank you to everyone who has donated to Children in Need today. We had a fun day dressed in our pyjamas! Let us know what you have been doing this weekend by commenting below! We love reading and story time in Reception! Comment below and tell us your child's favourite story! And don't forget, you can come into school at 3pm every Monday to read with your child and change their library book at 'reading bugs'. We have been using our 'funky fingers' to complete some new challenges this half term, strengthening our muscles for writing! This week we have gone loom band crazy! Our theme in Reception is 'autumn'. We have been exploring the changes in the environment and looking at the weather. We have also been investigating natural materials and creating some transient art and drawing and painting using the season as inspiration! We have also explored seasonal fruit and vegetables and made our very own pumpkin soup in our water tray. Can you tell us what you have learnt about autumn? You could ask a grown up to take you for an autumn walk and then email us some photographs! |
