We hope everyone is having a lovely half term break! Everyone has been working really hard in Reception since September so we think the children and grown ups deserve a rest! Don't forget that homework this week is to go for an Autumn walk. This links to 'Understanding the World'. Miss Haydon and Shadow have been for their Autumn walk in the woods.

EYFS have had a spooky week! We have been making potions and casting spells to explore capacity and hear sounds in words. We have been using scissors safely, and some of us have even ordered by size! We have been baking and decorating pumpkin biscuits to explore weight and develop our fine motor skills. We also read 'Room on the Broom' and listened to the rhyming words. And on Friday we had a spooky dress up day! We are marvellous mathematicians and we have been counting, recognising, ordering and writing numbers in Reception! We had a super celebration day for Eid! We have been learning all about different celebrations and how different families celebrate Eid. We talked about Hajj and who is a Muslim in our classes. This links to the Understanding the World strand of the EYFS curriculum. We then had a special day full of food, dancing, cooking, designing mehndi patterns and a fashion show! We wore our special Eid clothes. We had food with all of our grown ups. Mums and dads stayed to eat, explore our classrooms and have a Bollywood dance lesson! Eid Mubarak everyone! This weekend the homework is to check the blog and to email us with some of your weekend news!
Our Reception email address is [email protected] Please make sure you tell us who you are when you email so that we can add you to our EYFS contact list. Once we have your email address we will be able to email you photographs and observations of your child at school! Have a good weekend! |
