On Tuesday morning classes 3RB and 3Jk set off with great excitement on our trip to Clitheroe Castle. Whilst at the castle we learnt and made many new things like: - How to salute to dragons using swords - How to make a motte and bailey out of sand - We discovered more interesting facts about the history of castles - We made armour for Sir Eggbert (can you guess what he was?) - We Listened to a fantastic story about the myth of the Clitheroe Castle dragon We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and can not wait to share our favorite parts tomorrow! Check out the link below for more information on the castle www.lancashire.gov.uk/leisure-and-culture/museums/clitheroe-castle-museum.aspx Congratulations to all of 3RB who completed our home learning project task, they are fantastic! Have a look at them and let us know what you think!! Miss Bolton This term we are studying dragons and castles. Mr.D.Ragon has written to us and asked for our help in producing a book that will help his dragon hunters catch these vicious and evil creatures. We are currently working hard on our non-chronological reports in order to help.
If you spot any dragons, please let us know what they look like, any special features and where you spotted them. Please use wonderful adjectives when describing them as this will help us identify them. Thank you, 3RB On Monday 16th January 2017 we joined Tonge Moor Primary School at Bolton College for an afternoon of sports activities. These included basketball, football, dodgeball and obstacle races. This is the first of several opportunities for us to work together. We are looking forward to developing friendships with the children from the other school. We will keep you posted!
Hello 3JL!
I hope you are all enjoying your Easter Holliday and the rest from school. Have a look at this puzzle below, it really got me thinking. I hope you enjoy it. Keep checking the blog as I will post more tasks in the coming days. Enjoy your break!😎 Hey, If you have written a description of Max, and your feeling really clever, see if you can solve this maths challenge... Good luck it's a real brain teaser:)
Hey, I'd like you all to try and write a paragraph describing how Max (in the picture below) might be feeling, as he tries to cross the road. Remember to think about what he can: see, hear, smell and touch.
Once you've written your description, click on the link below and play on sentence magic to see if it helps you to improve your paragraph! I'd love to see what you have written. Send your description to me on the blog and I will publish the best ones:) I look forward to reading your descriptions😊. Have a great weekend. Happy blogging. If you haven't practised any addition using one of the methods I shown on the videos, then try some today and I'd love to see how you did on Monday!😊
Hello again. Here is another short video showing you how to use the expanded column method to add two numbers. You should only move onto this method if you are really comfortable using the petal method. This method can be used to add three or four digit numbers. Please try some questions using this method if you are ready, and let me know how you get on. I'd love to see your work on Monday. Enjoy your weekend😊. We have had a great theme this summer term of Here Comes The Sun! (It doesn't hurt to be optimistic does it?) We finished off by making moving shadow puppets to think about moving parts and then even found time to create a small play using our puppets.
So children, remember how the earth orbits around the sun? Well, in the time you have read this post the earth will have travelled about 1,200 miles around the sun. ZOOOOOOOOOOOM! On Wednesday we had our third and final day with Tonge Moor. We were a little worried as the weather recently has been on the rubbish side of absolutely awful. However, the day dawned and it was a beautiful sunny day. Huzzah! First we welcomed them with, well, our welcome song (better than welcoming with a goodbye song we thought) and then straight into some fantastic activities with Mr Bradley and Mr 'Booming Voice' Higgins. After a quick lunch we walked up to Zakariyya mosque where we had an interesting and lovely afternoon. Mr Blackmore even ended up with some of the tastiest dates ever. A fantastic day to cap off a brilliant experience.
What was your favourite part of the day? Year 3 had a wonderful day in the Lake District on the 19th March. We could not have had better weather (planning clearly was of an outstanding level) and we learned about the area, had fun and saw many interesting things that we wouldn't normally see here in Bolton! What was your favourite part of the day? |
