This week's homework is all about Victorian Schools. We would like you to describe the victorian schools using the images above. We haven't started our work around schools yet so it would be good to do some research about them to help you with your homework/learning. Make sure you include lots of really descriptive sentences! Targets must be included as always! Look forward to reading your descriptions! Mr Sharrock :) Earlier this week, you wrote diary entries in role of a Victorian child. These were all brilliant, because you met your targets and worked extremely well.
This week, your homework is to write a diary entry in role as the Victorian workmaster! You are the owner of a factory, and need to get those children working harder, so that you make more money! Think about: - what would they do in their day - write at least three paragraphs - use higher level connectives - make sure you meet your tidgy target! Who is the monarch above? Was she a powerful monarch? If so, why? How did she get to the throne? What happened in Britain when she was on the throne? These are just some of the questions which you need to answer below. Remember to make sure your answers are written in full sentences and organised into paragraphs! Make sure your targets are included too! Mr Sharrock :) We had a great time ice skating on Friday morning! Year 6 have had a super first term and made so much progress already. Because of this, they deserved a special treat! Well done Year 6! Keep it up! Miss Waldron, Mrs Mc and Mr Sharrock As part of Maths Week, today we took part in a special Puzzle Workshop! In teams, we were given lots of different puzzles and problems to solve. Which puzzle was your favourite? Why? How was working as a team helpful? This morning we completed some Maths outside! We were given lots of Maths questions which we needed to complete around the school. We worked as a team to think, measure and record our findings. Did you manage to find out how many windows there were? Which number sentences did you make using the car registration plates?
17 is the answer...
...what is the question? House points will be rewarded for imaginative questions which show off your mathematical expertise! Today we visited Bolton College to learn about the World's fastest car! We were given the chance to become engineers and think about how we could create a really fast car. The team that won the competition will have their names printed on the real car! Above is a model of the new car. What else did you learn about? What did you do with the cups and balloons? We investigated how different variables effect distance. We programmed Sphero to roll and stop. We changed the time and measured the distance it traveled. We repeated this for 3 different times. |
