This week year 5 and 6 have started their new Pikes Lane Learning Jouney Passports!
As you can see, they are full of exciting skills and experiences which the children are going to try to complete before they leave us at the end of year 6! Remember that we need to see some evidence that you have completed them so take photographs and videos on your iPads! We look forward to seeing what you have been doing! :) We've had a super 'Life Skills Day!' In Upper Key Stage 2! Everybody took part in 4 workshops today. They all helped to develop our Life Skills! We improved our teamwork skills, our communication skills, our disability awareness and our cooking skills! What at was your favourite part of the day? Which life skills did you develop? Which life skills do you still need work on? As part of our Crime and Punishment theme, we have completed work all about Guy Fawkes and The Gunpowder Plot. For homework over over the holidays, we would like you write a diary entry in the role of Guy Fawkes! Check the iTunes U course for more details! We we look forward to reading your super writing! This youtube video gives you some very basic information about 2d shapes and some of their properties. Could you do better using Explain Everything? Try making your own video about 2d shapes and their properties to help other Year 6s. The best ones will get posted on the blog!

Our theme this term is Crime and Punishment. We will investigate Crime and Punishment through the reigns of four different monarchs: Henry VIII, James I, Victoria and Elizabeth II. Which monarch do you think dealt out the strictest punishments for crimes? Make a predictions and give some reasons for your prediction.
This week, we'll be making some cool, creative and carefully-constructed coasters to sell at the Summer Fair.

Can you do it? To kick off sports week, we used our time to create posters explaining the rules of handball (before playing some handball ourselves!)
