After spending the week researching and designing our chocolate product, today we made them in class using lots of different, delicious ingredients! What did you learn from this experience? Evaluate your designs - did you have to make any last-minute changes to your final product? Why? Would you do anything differently next time?

Today, 6RS talked about how much we all love reading! Everyone could tell me what their favourite books were, giving lots of reasons why.
Let's share some of our favourite stories with the whole school! Think about... - why you like the book - your favourite characters - the plot (but no spoilers, please!) - who would enjoy the book? Today, we had a good look through our Assertive Mentoring targets in class to see whether we had met them. It was brilliant to see everyone being reflective thinkers, deciding whether they were ready to move on, or whether they needed to practise a skill a little bit more.
Qaalid's excellent reading record comments have helped him show that he's met his target ('make inferences using evidence') Have you met any of your targets? Are there any that you are still working towards? Let us know in the comments! Maths - 6RS and LMC maths groups - Carry out the Year 6 Term 1 Arithmetic Assessment on Mathletics.
Grammar - Read the Word Types sections and carry out the activity. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/english/spelling_grammar/word_types/read/1/ Today, you planned and carried out your own investigations about light around the Upper Key Stage 2 area. You worked very collaboratively, selecting group members based on your best skills (mathematicians, iPad experts, organisers and note-takers), proving that 'Together we can be the Best!' Can you explain some of your findings from today's lesson? What did you enjoy the most about it? Should we do more open-ended investigations like this in the future? Today, Year 6 taught Year 2 children how to use Hopscotch!
It was a fantastic activity, where everyone learned a lot. Which Learner Profile skills did you demonstrate today? Have a go at this maths challenge! It's one of my favourites. Fatima from 6LMC worked systematically and found the answer really quickly!
Can you find the solution and explain how you got there? We had an awesome visitor in school today - Craig Bradley, also known as That Poetry Bloke! We all really enjoyed the performances and couldn't stop laughing! What was your favourite part of the day? And just as importantly - what did we learn from it? What can words do? Today, Year 6 went ice skating! We all had a great time (even though most of us got a bit wet!) What did you enjoy most about the day? What advice would you give to anyone trying it for the first time? |
