We planned and carried out a great investigation about what happens to the pulse rate during exercise. Have a look at our work. Can anyone in class explain their findings? We've been learning all about how the heart works in 6RS. It's such an important part of our bodies and needs to be taken care of in order to stay as healthy as possible.
Can anyone suggest some ways that we can look after our heart? In our Big Maths time, we've been doing a little Murder Mystery Maths!
Have a look at the first clue. Can you work out what the sentence says using your table-reading skills and a little bit of logical thinking? In literacy today, we generated loads of exciting vocabulary using a thesaurus to describe what we could see in a picture. Why not use some of those skills to write some brilliant sentences about one of the pictures below? For those in afternoon intervention groups, you can use one of the sentences you came up with during intervention and share it with us!
Can you have a go at this logic puzzle? Use a whiteboard and work with a partner to solve it. Leave a comment when you think you've got the right answers!
Here's a shape-related brain teaser for you all to have a go at. How many triangles can you spot? What about squares? Leave an answer in the comments!
A quick message to all of 6RS. Keep checking your Showbie marking, and respond to any of the challenges that have been set for you!
Have a look at Maryam's awesome learning - she is always on the ball! We've got a load of other excellent Showbie stars too. Make sure you're of them! Have a look at the text below and answer the questions! Let's get practising our Reading Detective skills.
House point rewards to those who answer them correctly! We've been working on creating exciting timelines of all of our favourite inventions!
Have a look at Maryam's excellent work! Did you learn something new from it? Can you work systematically to find the solution to this problem?
Explain your answer below - but just as importantly, explain how you got to your solution and how you are certain that you found all possibilities. Have fun! Today, we researched which places around the world are the most inventive. Have a look at Madiha's excellent work! Which inventions did you research, or which ones would you like to know a little bit more about? Maybe we can answer some of each other's questions!
Have a look at our Pikes Lane values. These are the things that we all do our best to achieve!
Can you define some of the words in our values and explain what they mean? How can you show that you have been a team player, or motivated? Leave a comment and let us all know! I know you should never judge a book by its cover. But from one glimpse of Sharull's theme book, I get the impression that the inside of it is going to be amazing! Check out our spectacular front covers for our theme books! I can't wait to see how good they look inside.
We've been using Bloom's Taxonomy to create interesting questions for our KWHL grids in theme.
Can you suggest any interesting, open questions for us to use? Or perhaps you have an answer or suggestion for one of Mikhail's? |
