We have had a great week at Shine. Alison has been working with the children creating a puppet workshop, making superhero masks. Small groups have been designing hand puppets and trying to decide where to go for our end of shine reward trip, taking a democratic vote.
Miss Deakin has discussing how to use persuasive devices to talk about who is 'the Supreme Superhero'. The children used what they had learned to persuade their audience that their superhero was the best. They were able to use lots of powerful adjectives, researched evidence and bags of emotion to convince the others. Some children extended their argument by asking rhetorical questions. So, who do you think is the Supreme Superhero?
Miss Birch has been looking at speeds of humans, animals and vehicles and children have researched this. In the coming weeks the children will be creating their own superhero vehicle so learning about speed is very important.
We have also had a bbq outside for lunch.
