Our new theme will be Stomping Stone Age to Rocking Romans. What do you know about these times in history?
Well Year 3, it's been a great year. We have learnt lots and had fun along the way. What was your favourite theme in year 3 and why? What about your proudest moment? What about your funniest memory? What a glorious day for our Lower Keystage 2 sports day. We all tried our best and had lots of fun too! On Tuesday we took the Comenius dinosaur to the Falla Festival. We joined in the parades through the streets and ended with burning the Falla Monuments. Check out the photos. As part of our linking schools project our friends from Tonge Moor Primary School came to Pikes Lane. We had a fantastic time creating cartoons of one another and playing team building and problem solving games outside. In the afternoon we went to visit a mosque and learnt about the parts of a mosque. What a glorious day it was! The sun shone and we had an amazing time. We completed a trail around Brockholes, played on an adventure playground, then took a boat ride on Lake Windermere. What was your favourite part of the trip? Can you remember any facts from our trail? Today Mrs Diggle came into school to talk to us about looking after our teeth. We all brushed our teeth properly. Have a look at our pictures and look out for Aamina and Haaris who used a disclosing tablet! What did you find out today? Which book and author is your favourite and why? Take a look at our photos from world book day. We had an amazing day on Thursday at Bolton College where we met our friends from Tonge Moor School. We played team building games and had a go at college activities like hairdressing, beauty, car maintenance, catering, art and construction. What was your favourite part of the day? What are you looking forward to next in our 'Connecting Classrooms' project? We really enjoyed creating book reviews for Year 1 and then reading them the stories. What is your favourite book and why? I promised I would put on the blog the title of our new theme. So here it is... What would you like to learn about? Your homework over the holiday is to either read the information you were given about Roman life, or to complete your own research. After this, I would like you to write a paragraph (or more) about your research. Make notes as you have learnt in class before you begin. What a fantastic party we had! We had lots of yummy food and drinks... Enough to feed an army! You should have seen our moves when we danced and played games too. What did you enjoy the most? Do you think we have had a fantastic term, learnt lots and deserve a party? If so, what would you like to eat and which party games should we play? Thursday will be our party day if you agree we deserve one. |
