Because we think that democracy is important, we decided that the best way to choose our next class author was to suggest which author we would like and provide reasons why. We then decided that a vote was a fair way to choose.
Here is the link to the game we played today. You were all fantastic at calculating with negative numbers so now have a go at ordering them. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/maths/number/negative_numbers/play/ On Monday morning, we investigated haiku poems. We learnt about their structure and then performed them to a group. Here are some examples of our performances. Our year group assembly is next Wednesday afternoon. Let me know what you are most looking forward to about it? Say "Hello!" to our three Reading Detective Supercoaches. Asmaa, Maryam and Nuha always work really hard to fill in their Reading Record with fantastic comments that show how they are learning. Because of this, they now help other children in 4MP with their Reading Records. Keep up the outstanding work girls!!! This is a selfie that Tim Peake took last week whilst completing his spacewalk. In this photograph, he is actually floating in space. The only thing that is protecting him is the spacesuit that he is wearing. What do you predict Tim was thinking when he took this photograph?
Have a look at this website for some up to date information about the International Space Station and Tim Peake: www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/main/index.html Time for a challenge... 10 house points to the first person who can blog and tell me who our current Reading Detective is. Another 10 house points will go to the person who can blog the best explanation of how that Detective helps us. Get blogging 4MP!
This term, we will be learning all about jungles and rainforests. We have already completed some fantastic artwork in the style of Henri Matisse. We will start to look at the different plants and animals that live in rainforests and think about how we can sort them into different groups. We will also explore the different layers of the rainforest and investigate the features of each layer. What are you most looking forward to finding out about rainforests?
On Tuesday morning, we watched Tim Peake launch into space. We spent some of the morning talking about Tim and about the International Space Station. We all found it really interesting and inspiring.
What was the most exciting part for you? Why? I can tell that you are all enjoying our class book at the moment. We are managing to use lots of the Reading Detectives to help us understand the story. Let's see who can use Text Detective to predict how Grandma lost her thumb. |
My name is Miss Jolly and this is our class blog page. On here you will find lots of information about our current learning and the fun things we have been up to.
