Congratulations to all of 2JH that completed our home learning project task! Have a look at them and let us know what you think!! Miss Hickman 😀 Yesterday 2JH visited Brockholess Nature Reserve in Preston. We did some environmental art including; mud potion making, collages using sticks and leaves to make animals, played a game called 'Meet a Tree' and made Tree Spirits using clay, sticking faces on trees! We also showed our great team building skills by working collaboratively to build a shelter out of logs. Lastly, we learnt how to light a fire! This was something which was very different to normal school life and something where we showed what risk takers we were!!! I am very proud of how you behaved 2JH and hope you enjoyed your trip! Miss Hickman 😀 This week we have started to plan our adventure stories which will be set under the sea.
Remember about our Year 2 targets... we need to use adjectives, similes, alliteration and adverbs! Why don't you comment below with a fantastic descriptive sentence that you can use in your story this week... This week Uzair and Rukaiyya have been carrying out their responsibilities as our class representatives for School Council. They have a few questions for you 2JH, please answer them and make our school a better place... 1) What do you think about behaviour at Pikes Lane? 2) Do you like the Star of the Week tea party? 3) Do you like the idea of getting Star of the Week? 4) Do you like the idea of getting Star of the Term? 5) What do you think about achievement assembly on Friday afternoons? 6) What could we do to improve behaviour at Pikes Lane? 7) What happens if you are put on Amber on the traffic lights? Please comment, be honest and we will tell people what you think. Rukaiyya and Uzair have another meeting on Tuesday 10th May. Thank you, Miss Hickman 😀 Well done 2JH... Not only did we win the Beat the Bell trophy, Attendance trophy (100%) but we won Class of the Week for KS1!!!!! Excellent work and a fantastic example! Keep it up 😀 Miss Hickman. So as you know, you have been given the challenge to complete a home learning project. You must create a setting or habitat at home, this must be in by 10th June...this is over 6 weeks away so you have plenty of time! Get an empty shoe box, cereal box or maybe a pizza box and turn it into a rainforest, deep sea, Antarctic or even the outback. Try not to spend any money and use what you have at home; colours, tissue, paint and make animals and other features of your habitat! Use this blog to let me know how you are getting along with your project! It is homework so please try and complete this :) Miss Hickman 😀 Calling all explorers and adventurers! This week I would like you to research all about Bear Grylls. If you don't know already, find out: Who he is... What he does... Which countries he had been too... Any other information you can!! Use your research skills on the Internet to find out as much as you can. Use photographs, non-fiction writing and interviews or videos to help you. Miss Hickman 😀 2JH please can you practise these very important words?? See if you can spell 5 of them... Challenge yourself to 10!! I will be checking next week who has been practising when we do our spelling and SPAG test. B-e-a-u-tiful... An easy way to remember this one! See how you get on... Miss Hickman 😀 |
