What have you learnt about how we hear sounds? I think it's very complicated but amazing that the action happens so quick!

First it goes through the Pinna then the Ear-Canal and the Ear-Canal bounces of to the Ear-Drum.The Ear-Drum allows it to go to the bones and after it goes to the Inner Ear which has liquid inside and that sends it to the brain.

Our ears are part of a clever system that enables us to hear sounds! They act a little like dishes, picking up different sound waves and transmitting them into our ear canals. Our ears convert these sound waves when they travel through the tiny the tiny hairs inside the cochlea and changes them into nerve impulses , like electrical messages which are sent to the brain. The brain then decodes and makes sense of the sounds we hear!

Our ears are made up of three which work together to help us hear sounds:
.The outer ear: This is the part we can see. It collects and funnels sound inwards!

.The middle ear: Contains the eardrum, and three tiny bones, called the hammer, anvil and stirrup, causing vibrations!

.The inner ear: Translates the sound vibrations to nerve impulses for the brain!

Wow Fatima, you have written a fantastic explanation. Remember if you find something on the internet, try to change it into your own words. Well done!

The ear is the organ that detects sound. It not only receives sound, but also aids in balance and body position. The ear is part of the auditory system.
Often the entire organ is considered the ear, though it may also be considered just the visible portion. In most mammals, the visible ear is a flap of tissue that is also called the pinna(or auricle in humans) and is the first of many steps in hearing. Vertebrates have a pair of ears placed somewhat symmetrically on opposite sides of the head. This arrangement aids in the ability to localize sound sources.

Instead of playing PS4 write your times table or research some interesting ear facts and share it with your class.

I have learnt a lot about how an Ear works and how long it takes for our brain to get the message that we have heard a sound.
Here i have written a set of instructions of how an Ear works:

1. Firstly, the sound gives vibrations in the air.

2. Secondly, the sound that is coming will first come from the Pinna.

3. Thirdly, the sound comes through the Ear Canal.

4. After that, the sound hits the Eardrum and it also causes it to vibrate.

5.Later, the little bones in your ear vibrates.

6.Soon after that, the little hairs on the Anvil detects the vibration and makes the Anvil and the Hammer to vibrate , it is a bit like it is jumping up and down.

7.Next, the brain gets the message .

8.Not long after that, the brain sorts the message and tells you that you got a sound and what it is.

FUN FACT
Did you know that all these eight steps that I have written, happens in a milli second and it happens so quick that you never realise that it has actually all happened.
