Old Macdonald visited school after the boys and girls went home last night and left us some eggs!
We weren't sure what kind of eggs they were so we had to investigate! Some of the children researched oviparous animals (animals that lay eggs) using the laptops and iPads. Some of the children read a non fiction book about eggs; they thought we might have penguin eggs, but then we discovered that penguin eggs measure 11-12cm, and ours measure 6cm. Some of the children looked at duck, hen and quail eggs and then compared them to the eggs in the incubator. Some of the children read 'The Odd Egg' and decided our eggs definitely weren't crocodiles! We got an email from Old Macdonald confirming that they are actually chicks! We can't wait for them to hatch!
