This activity encouraged a lot of questioning such as;
"How does the corn turn into popcorn?" Iris.
"Why does it taste so nice?" Layla Patel.
"Where did the corn come from?" Adel.
The children this week have been learning about corn and how it helps to feed the animals on the farm. This was a sensory and language building activity which, allowed the children to talk about the process, the children commented on the smells, tastes, textures and sounds "listen it goes pop, pop, pop" said Mahira. The children watched the kernels pop in a pan and change into popcorn. . After the popcorn had finished popping, the children added a flavour to their bowl. The children enjoyed a small portion of popcorn with their snack. This activity encouraged a lot of questioning such as; "How does the corn turn into popcorn?" Iris. "Why does it taste so nice?" Layla Patel. "Where did the corn come from?" Adel. Why not ask your child about.. popcorn and comment on the blog below.
