In Literacy we retold the story Handa's Surprise, which is from another culture. We looked at the different African animals and fruits in the story. Miss McAfee got some different African fruits for us to taste (we loved some but the lemon was tangy and bitter!) we used adjectives, like in the story, to describe them. We then changed the animals to create our own stories and wrote them using such amazing language! Miss McAfee was very proud of our final big write! In Maths we practised finding fractions with the fruits!
We had lots of fun and made lots of money for charity! We made a huge friendship den on the pirate ship with Mrs Witter. We learnt about keeping healthy, doing exercise with Miss McAfee including completing a golden mile and creating healthy snacks with Mrs Jamal. We also went to Mrs Cawley's restaurant to practise our cutting skills!
We have been learning about and identifying some common plants this week. We loved our plant hunt in the school grounds! How many different plants can you name? Can you find any in your garden? We could not find a dandelion to blow the seeds, can you?
Have got some brilliant learning projects that have been handed in. Have you done yours yet? I am excited to see more!
